Sustainability at the Heart of What We Do

At Exdi Home, sustainability isn’t just a trend- it’s how we work, think, and style every space. I believe beautiful homes shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet, which is why I use stylish, high-quality ex-display furniture sourced from trusted brands. These pieces are often used just once in a showroom, but still have so much life and value to give.

By reusing existing furniture and offering short-term hire options, I help clients stage their homes without the need to purchase brand-new items that may only be used once. This approach reduces waste, cuts down on unnecessary manufacturing, and supports a more circular way of working in the property and interiors industry.

Even better? Many of the pieces used in staging are then offered for sale through my sister business, Exdi Furniture—so nothing goes to waste, and someone else gets to enjoy great design at a fraction of the original cost.

From reducing furniture waste to keeping packaging where possible, I’m always looking for small ways to make a big difference. Sustainability doesn’t mean compromising on style—it just means being more thoughtful about how we design, decorate, and sell.

Here are some of the ways Exdi Home supports a more sustainable future:

  • Ex-display furniture with purpose
All furniture used for staging is carefully selected ex-display stock from well known brands. These pieces are stylish, high-quality, and ready for a second life- avoiding unnecessary manufacturing and landfill.

  • Packaging reuse
I reuse packaging materials wherever possible, and leftover cardboard, foam wrap, and boxes are made freely available to local Nottingham businesses and individuals- perfect for moving, posting parcels, or protecting items during projects.

  • Nothing goes to waste
Damaged or incomplete furniture isn’t thrown away—it’s offered free of charge for local upcycling and DIY projects. Whether you're making a side table from spare legs or using boards for creative builds, I love hearing how it helps you get hands-on (and even supports mental well-being).

  • A DIY section just for you
I’ve created a DIY page on the website where you can reserve or buy leftover items and materials at affordable prices. This gives each piece a second chance and helps me minimise waste from every project.

  • Low energy showroom visits
Like Exdi Furniture, the Exdi Home showroom is open by appointment only. This means you get a personal, focused experience—while also helping me reduce electricity use and lower my carbon footprint.

  • Sustainable delivery solutions
When items need transporting, I prioritise local couriers to support other small businesses. For longer-distance deliveries, I use the Shiply platform, which matches your furniture to drivers already on the road—reducing empty runs and unnecessary emissions.

I believe every small step counts. From the accessories I choose to the delivery routes I support, Exdi Home is committed to making home staging more sustainable—for your home, my business, and the planet.
